BCD Technologies is a hazardous waste management company specialising in the disposal of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Typically these are chlorinated organic compounds such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and organochlorine pesticides (OCPs).

BCD Technologies has been operating to assist the Australian government and industry in the management and destruction of POPs since 1985.

• 1985 BCD Technologies commenced Operations - Removal of PCBs from transformers, solvent cleaning equipment to reduce amount of material shipped overseas for High Temperature Incineration
• 1989 Basel Convention Promulgated into Australian Federal Law - Ban on export of hazardous waste from Australia. Focus on developing waste treatment technologies within Australia
• 1992 BCD Technologies commissioned the Base Catalysed Dechlorination (BCD) Plant.
• 1996 Polychlorinated Biphenyl Management Plan Implemented in Australia - this planned for destruction of Australia's PCB wastes over 10 years
• 1997 BCD Technologies commissioned PLASCON^® plant for the specific treatment of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as PCB's.
• 2001 BCD Technologies Pty Ltd acquisition of SRL Plasma Limited
• The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants came into force on 17 May 2004, with Australia ratifying the Convention on 20 May 2004 and becoming a Party on 18 August 2004.
• 2006 DoloMatrix International Limited acquired BCD Technologies Pty Ltd

Ozone depleting substances (ODSs) are destroyed using PLASCON^® technology at BCD's Tottenham plant in Victoria.

• BCD Tottenham treats refrigerants (mainly freon)
• Halon gases from the Australian National Halon Bank are destroyed
